Tokay geckos, known scientifically as Gekko gecko, are one of the largest and most distinctive species of geckos in the world. They are easily recognized by their striking blue-gray bodies dotted with bright orange or red spots, and they can grow up to 15 inches in length, making them a formidable size compared to other gecko species. Native to the rainforests and human dwellings throughout Southeast Asia and some Pacific Islands, tokay geckos are named after their loud, distinctive mating call, which sounds like "to-kay, to-kay."
